My son’s pediatric dentist has a large marble machine mounted on the wall of her waiting room. Dental appointments are a drag, but watching the marbles spin around the intricately designed course is a nice treat.
This marble machine, though, is mind-boggling in its design. Not only does it use 2000 marbles, it’s used to perform music.
I love that this video shows how each component of the machine makes a different sound. It also has the most creative use of Lego Technic tread and pegs I’ve ever seen. The music-box quality of the composition is nice too.
It’d be fun to attempt a simpler recreation with Legos.
