Hello ETM Readers!
It’s here! The beginning of the 2016/2017 school year, major cause for parental celebration! In all seriousness though, despite my shared parental jubilance for the return of another school year, I must admit that I approach it with mixed feelings. My head is full of questions. What will this year hold for my child? Will she feel good in her new classroom? Can she make it through the year with her self-esteem intact? Will the morning routine ever have some semblance of sanity? Just thinking about it makes me tired!
The return of school is bittersweet. Transitions are difficult but they can also be exciting, so, I wanted to say a few words about this month’s theme TRANSITIONS. The word itself means change. Though we humans don’t always particularly like change, it’s a vital force that allows us to look forward and remain open to the world of possibilities. So, as school kicks off and summer shifts to fall, let’s move onwards and upwards. Eat the Marshmallow wishes an awesome school year for your children and for yourselves.
