With the future of public education being a bit of an unknown, it is important to make your opinions as parents KNOWN to our current administration. This printable asks for Betsy DeVos’s team to re-post the original web site that gives full and thorough information on the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. In January, the site was taken down and has, as of now, not been restored with all of the helpful links and resources and explain the act plainly as it plays out in students’ daily lives. The department claims to have restored the site as of Feb 8th 2017, but it is not as user friendly or as thorough with its resources as before. Print out our very own ETM designed postcard, created by my co-captain, Maki Yamane:

Download the postcard .pdf here. Once you have downloaded, printed, and written your postcard, address it to the following: Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos, U.S. Department of Education, 400 Maryland Avenue SW, Washington, D.C. 20202

The text of the law and its regulations can still be accessed through multiple official sites. Here are links for the text of IDEA, Part B IDEA regulations (which applies to children and young people ages 3-21), Part C IDEA regulations (which applies to children from birth through age 2).

Enjoy your activism!
